Zusammen mit seinen f\u00fcnf Geschwistern w\u00e4chst er in der Hartestra\u00dfe 25 auf. Als er alt genug ist geht er auf die Gro\u00dfe Stadtschule in seinem Geburtsort. Er schafft erfolgreich seinen Abschluss und studiert Medizin und Naturwissenschaften in Rostock und Stra\u00dfburg. Nur ein Jahr nach Abschluss seines Studiums wird ihm der Doktor der Medizin verliehen. Der Beginn einer bedeutenden wissenschaftlichen Karriere.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\"><h3>Die Entdeckung der Nukleinbasen<\/h3>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-fullwidth fullwidth-box fusion-builder-row-2 nonhundred-percent-fullwidth non-hundred-percent-height-scrolling\" style=\"--awb-border-radius-top-left:0px;--awb-border-radius-top-right:0px;--awb-border-radius-bottom-right:0px;--awb-border-radius-bottom-left:0px;--awb-flex-wrap:wrap;\" ><div class=\"fusion-builder-row fusion-row\"><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-1 fusion_builder_column_1_2 1_2 fusion-one-half fusion-column-first\" style=\"--awb-bg-size:cover;width:50%;width:calc(50% - ( ( 4% ) * 0.5 ) );margin-right: 4%;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper fusion-flex-column-wrapper-legacy\"><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-3\"><p>Albrecht Kossel beginnt 1878 die Arbeiten von dem Mediziner Friedrich Miescher fortzusetzen. Dieser wurde im Jahr 1844 geboren und ist als Entdecker der Nukleins\u00e4uren (DNA). Diese sind als saure Bestandteile des Zellkerns bekannt. Miescher entdeckte die Nukleins\u00e4ure in wei\u00dfen Blutk\u00f6rperchen und nannte sie Nuklein (abgeleitet vom lateinischen \u201cnucleus\u201d = Kern).<\/p>\n<p>Diese Arbeiten von Miescher benutze Albrecht Kossel als Grundlage f\u00fcr seine Forschungen. Damit kann er nachweisen, dass das von Miescher genannte Nuklein keinen Reservestoff in Organismen darstellt. Mit gezielten Hungerversuchen an H\u00fchnern und Tauben belegt er, dass sich die Menge der Nukleine nur gering ver\u00e4ndert, egal ob ein Organismus hungert oder nicht. W\u00e4hrend Kossel 1883 nachweist, dass Guanin ein Spaltprodukt des Nukleins ist, leitet er die Chemische Abteilung des Physiologischen Instituts der Universit\u00e4t Berlin. Nur zwei Jahre sp\u00e4ter entdeckt Kossel aus einer Rinder-Bauchspeicheldr\u00fcse eine weitere Base.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-2 fusion_builder_column_1_2 1_2 fusion-one-half fusion-column-last\" style=\"--awb-bg-size:cover;width:50%;width:calc(50% - ( ( 4% ) * 0.5 ) );\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper fusion-flex-column-wrapper-legacy\"><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-4\"><p>Diese Base nennt er Adenin. Diese hat er nach dem griechischen Wort \u201caden\u201d, welches Dr\u00fcse bedeutet, benannt.<\/p>\n<p>Diese Gesamtheit der basischen Substanzen fasst er unter dem Namen \u201cNukleinbasen\u201d zusammen.<\/p>\n<p>1893 entdeckt er mit einem Assistenten aus der Thymusdr\u00fcse eines Kalbes ein weiteres Spaltprodukt, welches er Thymin nennt. Nur ein Jahr sp\u00e4ter k\u00f6nnen sie noch eine weitere Substanz isolieren \u2013 das Cytosin. Damit sind die vier Nukleinbasen, die heute die Grundlage der DNA bilden entdeckt worden. Zusammen mit seinem Mitarbeiter Hermann Streudel bemerkt Kossel, dass diese vier Nukleinbasen in allen entwicklungsf\u00e4higen Zellen zu finden sind. Albrecht Kossel legt damit die wesentlichen Voraussetzungen f\u00fcr das ber\u00fchmte Doppel-Helix-Modell der DNA. Dezember 1910 und die Nobelpreise f\u00fcr dieses Jahr werden verliehen. Der Nobelpreis ist von dem schwedischen Erfinder Alfred Nobel (1833\u20131896) gestiftet. Auch Albrecht Kossel bekommt einen Nobelpreis f\u00fcr &#8222;Physiologie oder Medizin&#8220;. W\u00e4ren die Nukleinbasen nicht entdeckt worden, so w\u00fcrden die nachfolgenden Forschungen an der Gentechnik gar nicht stattfinden oder m\u00f6glich sein. Als Gentechnik bezeichnet man Methoden und Verfahren, bei denen in das Erbgut von Lebewesen eingegriffen wird und somit die Steuerungsvorg\u00e4nge beeinflusst werden k\u00f6nnen. Die Gentechnik wird heutzutage in der Medizin, der Industrie oder der Abfallwirtschaft eingesetzt. Diese bleibt nach dem Ernten 14 Tage l\u00e4nger frisch als die bisher angebauten Tomaten. Bereits zwei Jahre sp\u00e4ter werden gro\u00dffl\u00e4chig genetisch ver\u00e4nderte Pflanzen wie Mais und Soja angebaut.<\/p>\n<p>Auch heute werden noch Pflanzen wie Mais, Kartoffeln, Raps, Soja und Baumwolle genmanipuliert. Dabei werden Gene so manipuliert, dass Mutationen entstehen, die bestimmte Eigenschaften bekommen oder verlieren. Zum Beispiel sind gentechnisch ver\u00e4nderte Pflanzen teilweise gegen verschiedene Sch\u00e4dlinge oder sogar das Wetter resistent. Gentechnikern ist es gelungen eine Maisart zu z\u00fcchten, die gro\u00dfe Trockenperioden \u00fcberleben kann. Dazu wurde ein Gen injiziert, welches daf\u00fcr sorgt, auch bei Wassermangel die wichtigsten Zellfunktionen aufrecht zu erhalten.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-11 fusion_builder_column_1_2 1_2 fusion-one-half fusion-column-last\" style=\"--awb-bg-size:cover;width:50%;width:calc(50% - ( ( 4% ) * 0.5 ) );\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper fusion-flex-column-wrapper-legacy\"><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-15\"><p>Ein weiteres Beispiel f\u00fcr <a href=\"https:\/\/m.simplyscience.ch\/gene-und-ernaehrung\/articles\/gentechnisch-veraenderte-pflanzen.html\" target=\"_blank\">Gentechnik an Pflanzen<\/a> ist ein Reis ohne Allergen. Reis enth\u00e4lt ein Eiwei\u00df, dass bei manchen Menschen Allergien ausl\u00f6st. Durch die Gentechnik ist es Wissenschaftlern gelungen, dieses zu inaktivieren und somit Reis f\u00fcr jeden zug\u00e4nglich zu machen. Auch bei N\u00fcssen, \u00c4pfeln oder Soja k\u00f6nnte diese Technik angewandt werden.
